Who hasn’t experienced the magical taste of toffees and candies? They are the mainly used confections in almost all celebrations. But the usage of both the terms are quite confusing. Candy can be any sweet in US but it is crystallized sugar in UK.

WHAT IS CANDY?

Candy can be any confection made mainly of sugar. It can be soft candy, hard candy, marshmallow and caramels. It can give food energy.

WHAT IS TOFFEE?

 The word toffee is derived from ‘taffy’ meaning sticky. Toffee is a type of hard candy that is chewy and is made of sugar and butter. It is made by caramelizing sugar or molasses with butter. It is hard but becomes soft on chewing. It is brown in color due to the process of caramelization. Toffee is having a butterscotch flavor where sugar is caramelized with butter.
